Weather and Climate

 


Vietnam is located in the region of monsoon and tropical climate with high humidity and seasonal  rains.

Temperature: 2 different zones. All the provinces from Da Nang upnorth featuring 4 seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter. The temperature of the hottest and coldest months in a year ranges from 35 - 39 degree celcius and 10 - 16 degree celcius respectively.

All the provinces from Hue downsouth posessing rainy and dry seasons. The rainy season is from May to November and the dry season is from December to April.

At the time of the Conference is the end of Autumn and beginning of Winter with the temperature around 18 - 25 deegree celcius. 
 


 

 Transport

 

Public bus is the means of transport in the city. You can also call a taxi to the place you want to. Besides, there is an interesting mean of transport that you can travel around the Old Quarters of Hanoi by cyclo.

 


 

 Working time

 


Most of offices start working at 8.00 a.m and for 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week.

All the big supermarkets open from 8.00 a.m to 9.00 p.m

 Currency

 


The unit of Vietnam’s currency is Dong. Coin denominations are 5,000 Dong; 2,000 Dong; 1,000 Dong; 500 Dong; 200 Dong. Banknotes are 500,000 Dong; 200,000 Dong; 100,000 Dong; 50,000 Dong; 20,000 Dong; 10,000 Dong; 5,000 Dong; 2,000 Dong; 1,000 Dong; 500 Dong; 200 Dong.

You can change money in a bank or other authorised exchanger in the city center.
 


 

 Passports

 


All foreigners who come to Vietnam must have a passport and visa. Except for the people from the countries signed the exception agreement can stay in Vietnam for 15 days to 1 month. Please, call to Vietnam’s  Ambassies or Consulates in your countries to get more information. Below are those countries:

Asia: Japan, Korea (15 days), Thailand, Singapore, Philipines, Malaysia, Laos, Indonesia (1 month).

Europe: Finland, Sweeden, Norways, Denmark (15 days).
 


 

 Electricity

 

The voltage of 220V is popularly used in Vietnam.
